I have had two straight massages booked for the purposes of manually draining lymph and general oedema in the legs - specifically the lower leg. The latest client, a lady in her 70s, had legs that were puffed up to the point of feeling like a firm mango. I proceeded to hold her heal, and with pumping motions, gently move up to the knee. With each progressive move I left a slight imprint of my hand and fingers and could feel the fluid move leaving the soft tissue more loose. The client said she felt a slight pain, but in a good way. She left feeling more mobile and happy. From Kasem, Harrow Massage Therapy, Sports and Remedial massage in Harrow, London www.harrowmassagetherapy.com
